In a community-wide effort, LaunchNW is collaborating with 21 local organizations to implement the Mpower Mentoring Program in eight Spokane County high schools this school year.

Mpower is driven by collective impact. Designed alongside local school districts, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and universities, Mpower connects high school students with mentors and other wraparound supports to help them reach their post-high school education and career of choice. Why are we asking this? We strive to have a team of mentors who reflect a representative body for our student mentees.

All mentor meetings will take place at the high school in which the student mentee is enrolled. Mentors are expected to meet with their student mentee 1-2 times per month for the duration of the academic year. Mentors will be expected to complete trainings and background checks prior to being matched with a student mentee, and may be required to log reports of their interactions with their student mentees.

Mentors will be assigned to one of our community partner organizations, who will coordinate meetings and provide other resources to ensure a successful mentor-student mentee partnership. To learn more about our community partners or if you have questions, please visit our website.

En un esfuerzo de toda la comunidad, LaunchNW está colaborando con 20 organizaciones locales para implementar el Programa de Mentoría Mpower en siete escuelas secundarias del condado de Spokane este otoño.

Mpower está impulsado por el impacto colectivo. Todas las reuniones de mentores se llevarán a cabo en la escuela secundaria en la que esté matriculado el estudiante aprendiz. Se espera que los mentores se reúnan con su estudiante aprendiz 1 o 2 veces al mes durante el año académico (de octubre a junio). Se espera que los mentores completen capacitaciones y verificaciones de antecedentes antes de ser asignados a un estudiante aprendiz. Los mentores deberán registrar informes de sus interacciones con sus estudiantes aprendices.


Los mentores serán asignados a una de nuestras organizaciones comunitarias asociadas, quienes coordinarán las capacitaciones y brindarán otros recursos para garantizar una asociación exitosa entre mentor y estudiante.
