LaunchNW Peer Mentor Application

In a community-wide effort, LaunchNW is collaborating with over 20 local organizations to implement the Mpower Mentoring Program in thirteen Spokane County high schools this school year.

Mpower is driven by collective impact. Designed alongside local school districts, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and universities, Mpower connects high school students with mentors and other wraparound supports to help them reach their post-high school education and career of choice. We invite you to invest in the future of our region by becoming a mentor today.

By checking the box above, you agree to receive text messages from LaunchNW related to your mentor application and experience. Message & data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply HELP for help and STOP to cancel. View Terms of Service and Privacy Policy here.

At this time, Mpower peer mentors must be in 12th grade to apply.

Why are we asking this? We strive to have a team of mentors who reflect a representative body for our student mentees.

e.g.: Art; School Clubs; Sports; Hiking / Nature...

e.g.: Apprenticeship; 4-year degree...

All mentor meetings will take place at the high school in which the student mentor and student mentee are enrolled. Mentors are expected to meet with their mentee 1-2 times per month for the duration of the academic year. Mentors will be expected to complete trainings prior to being matched with a mentee, and may be required to log reports documenting their interactions with their mentee.

Mentors will be assigned to a site coordinator who will coordinate trainings and provide other resources to ensure a successful mentor- mentee partnership. Mentors will meet with this site coordinator on a regular time basis as set by the coordinator.

Upon the successful completion of all mentor expectations, peer mentors will receive a stipend of $200.00. In order to receive this stipend, mentors must fill out a W-9 document. To learn more about our community partners or if you have questions, please visit our website.
